The following is a listing of various ministry opportunities at First Lutheran Church. If you would like to become part of any group or would like more information, please contact the church office at 507-665-2615.

Hospitality Work Groups
The Hospitality Work Groups fall under the leadership of the Hospitality Teams Steering Committee. The Steering Committee oversees events that are scheduled at First Lutheran.  Each Hospitality Team has a liaison on the Steering Committee . Every member of the congregation is assigned to one of the four work groups. Members may be asked to work or furnish food for events such as funerals or church dinners or other events.

Music & Worship Team
First Choir is comprised of singers -- high school age and older -- who rehearse between Sunday morning services from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.  The First Choir provides leadership and special music at worship service each Sunday.  They do not rehearse or sing on the fourth Sunday of each month. Outreach Team
The Outreach Team plans and evaluates the outreach mission within the congregation, to those new to the community who may be interested in membership, and the community at large. This is done in a variety of ways such as a Welcome Team delivering cookies to guests who recently attended worship, gathering food for the local food shelf at the community's summer celebration. The Outreach Team coordinates new member activities, which take place in the fall and spring.

Prayer Chain
Individuals in the congregation who are gifted in this ministry keep in prayer those within First Lutheran and the community who are experiencing difficult life issues.

Property Team
This team oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the church building and grounds.

Social Ministry Team
The Social Minstry team meets periodically as projects develop. Recent projects include Halloween and Valentine's Day treat mailings to young people who recently graduated from high school and are away from home - at school, in the military, or working - to remind them they are still supported by their church home.
Christmas love baskets are assembled and delivered shortly before Christmas.
The Social Minstry team also supports the prayer chain and greeting card ministry.

Stewardship Team
Congregation members are encouraged to be good managers of their time, talents, and finances. Throughout the year various events are planned to assist members in this awareness.

Christian Education and Youth Team
The Christian Education and Youth Team has oversight of the entire education program of the congregation - from children to adults. Ongoing responsibilities include cradle roll, nursery, Good News Hour (GNH=Sunday School), Growing In God's Grace (GIGG=Confirmation), high school youth, adult education and library. Additional projects include scholarships for High School seniors, teacher recognition, graduation recognition, Vacation Bible School, Rally Sunday (Re-gathering Sunday) celebration, Confirmation Brunch/Sunday, and the children's Christmas Program.
